With a dynamic performance in the foodservice industry, Gran Sapore has always positioned itself as an innovative and pioneer company. In 2005, it entered into a partnership with Teknisa Software, aiming to implement the TecFood management system with focus on the operational, supply chain and menu engeneering areas of its units (restaurants).
According to Ademar Godoy, IT manager of the company, this project initially focused on these segments because the entire fiscal, financial and accounting management of Gran Sapore was outsourced to a service bureau through BPO (Business Process Outsourcing). In the middle of 2008, with TecFood implemented in the operational area of about 350 restaurants from a total of 920 in Brazil, besides Colombia and Mexico, running in-house not only the operational but also the financial and administrative management of the company with the use of only one system became a necessity.
Thus, Gran Sapore chose to evaluate the Teknisa’s ERP software for the management of all its outsourced processes and the system was definately elected. “Among some other options available in the market, we selected the Teknisa’s ERP called Agent2b as our only system for our administrative and operational (TecFood) management, because we were sure that we would resolve issues like re-work and lack of integration between information and processes’’ – says Godoy.
With the use of a work schedule, methodology and well-defined rules and functions, the ERP Agent2b was implemented in about 4 months. “We succeeded in this stage, and also succeeded in attending the needs of the entire company, we used an advanced technology to extend the solution to our business units (restaurants), minimizing difficulties in accessing the systems and maximizing our mobility. With thin clients we use a browser to access the Teknisa’s ERP. We have a complete system that controls both the operational and financial/administrative management. Teknisa’s work team actively participated in the adaptations and timely made the needed changes with the system already working. Even upon our difficulties, they stayed by our side ready to serve us. The success we attained is worthwhile in relation to the hard work that comes with implementing a new system” – states Godoy.
He also tells about the results Gran Sapore achieved in using all the ERP Agent2b modules: “Presently, our information is manageable, useful and organized. We eliminated re-work and our processes are brief and straightforward, besides a great cut in typing expenditures. Other benefits are due to the integration between the Supply Chain and the Goods Purchase Invoice modules which permits us to compare purchase invoices with supply authorizations upon goods receipt and control prices previously negotiated with suppliers. All these results are possible because Agent2b is a critical system that fully adapted to Gran Sapore’s reality. Thus, our company has been experiencing a true economy in its supply chain management and automated invoicing. As a consequence, the delivery time to our clients has been shortened. Invoicing with short terms and also integration with the Accounts Receivable module is of great value”.
Godoy yet tells about future perspectives with this partnership: “Gran Sapore is present in several market segments and to fulfil its requirements we use other products from Teknisa and, for now, we are preparing ourselves to implement the POS software called ForSale, which will manage checkout sales in our restaurants and, of course, will be integrated with the ERP Agent2b. In conclusion, Gran Sapore had a satisfactory return with this innovation and I pride myself for participating in this project which counted on the great human resources of both companies' staffs. Due to this big success, we look forward to implementing the Teknisa's systems in our units in Colombia and Mexico, since they are multilingual and have enabled us to transform our management into positive results".
