75% of executive IT decision-makers consider IT management software to be important or very important for reaching efficiency. That is the conclusion of a research carried out by Forrester Research - sponsored by CA - which interviewed 174 IT decision-makers who are involved in functional, support and infrastructure areas in the USA and the UK.
 

According to the analysis, service quality and cost control are critical factors for IT management. The research evaluates organizations' strategies to increase staff efficiency and productivity as well as the the role played by IT management, services and support in the pursuit of those objectives.
 

Besides attributes such as functionality and integration capacity, the most important criterion in the selection or renew of IT service contracts is the quality of the support offered by software verdors. More than half (56%) of interviewed executives believe the vendor of the IT management solution is the most likely provider of a quality support service.
 

They also believe the most important characteristics that define a quality support are: response speed (84%); specific knowledge on the product and a unique touch point (62%); proactive support for planning updates and checking the health of the solution (54% and 51%, respectively), and on-site support service offerings (54%).
